Jan 01, 2007 – Eleven hundred doctors in NYU’s independent practice association have begun beta testing a new software that compares insurers’ explanation of benefits with a negotiated fee schedule. If there’s a disparity, the program generates a ready-to mail doctor’s appeal to the insurer.
Right-Remit was custom-designed for University Physicians Network, NYU’s IPA. The system provides an innovative solution for analyzing Electronic Remittance Advice files and comparing promised versus actual payments for rendered services. Right-Remit’s comparison provides several ways to compare ERA files with the UPN Fee Schedules, adjusted by bundling logic and site of service criteria. The solution enables providers to easily identify the reasons for underpayments and contest them with the payers. Right-Remit also enables the generation of appeal and overpayment letters.
“CureMD is trying to be the doctors’ advocate so that they can have better control of their finances,” says Kamal Hashmat, the company’s president. |
