February 23, 2007 - CureMD Corporation announced the launch of its new Veterinary Health Information Management Solution– CurePet – at the 2007 Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas today. Developed in partnership with the Animal Medical Center (AMC) New York, the world's largest veterinary hospital and a renowned educational institution with over hundred years of contribution in research and clinical advances, CurePet provides caregivers cutting edge information management and decision support functionalities to facilitate high quality care delivery.
CurePet, a comprehensive Electronic Medical Records and Treatment Plan Management solution, enables integration and interoperability with diverse health information systems including AMC’s legacy enterprise management, scheduling, laboratory, pharmacy and diagnostic systems. This ensures that care delivery information is organized and readily available to all decision makers from a single source. The system integrates Systemized Nomenclature of Medicine Clinical Terms (SNOMED CT) to provide comprehensive clinical terminology and decision support for coding, retrieving and analyzing clinical data to facilitate research and enhance the quality of care.
While presenting CurePet to his staff of over 140 healthcare professionals, Mr. Jim Arricale, CTO of AMC, said “We partnered with CureMD as we want to bring their human health experience and world class deployment knowledge to the world of veterinary medicine. Our 100 year old teaching hospital has a legacy of delivering quality care to the greater New York area. We believe that by integrating CureMD’s proprietary decision support technologies with our home grown systems can produce measurable performance enhancements both in the short and long run. We have been using IBM technologies for over ten years and feel that CureMD’s rapid deployment model not only ensures aggressive ROI but also allows us to test drive the systems in a very short time. We hope to optimize our operational efficiency, streamline workflows, enhance patient safety and minimize duplication of effort by implementing the new CurePet solution”
Speaking on the occasion Bilal Hashmat, CIO of CureMD, said "Reaching out to veterinary healthcare world is like a dream come true. We have learnt so much over the past decade through large HIS deployments and we are thrilled to partner with the world’s largest veterinary care facility while creating a tremendous value proposition for AMC and CureMD team members. Our framework of extendible clinical components and solid engineering expertise creates enormous value and growth opportunities to reshape the destiny of veterinary care delivery.”
