The Borough’s First Hospital Joins Forces with CureMD to Deliver Better Care to 500,000 Patients

 

New York, NY July 3, 2004:  The Brooklyn Hospital Center’s urology department has chosen to partner with CureMD’s integrated EMR and Practice Management platform to streamline its clinical, administrative and back office processes.

The Brooklyn Hospital Center provides a continuum of coordinated healthcare and related services to the  people of Brooklyn and surrounding areas, serving over 500,000 patients every year. This creates immense pressure on Brooklyn Hospital’s staff as they constantly have to retrieve and update the most recent patient information, coordinate with front desk to manage appointments and work round the clock with the billing department to process patient statements.

To help streamline the Urology department’s workflow and to automate information delivery, CureMD deployed its integrated client server application. The CureMD application, a healthcare information delivery platform integrating Electronic Medical Records, Practice Management, Appointment Scheduling, Billing, Mobile Care Management and Patient Portal, enables providers and staff to access the required information in real-time, without having to manually do this. Since all information is stored in CureMD’s high availability, fail-safe healthcare data repository, providers always have access to the most current and up-to-date information at the point of care.

With CureMD, the department has experienced seamless synchronization of clinical, administrative and billing processes, while optimizing revenue streams, minimizing operational costs and complying with HIPAA regulations.
